ATTN: NO WOMEN’S HEALTH AT LIGHTWATER
Jane has been a member of the Scorpio Clinics team since 2006. She qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of East London in 1998 and brings over 25 years of experience in private practice. Jane currently practises at both the Virginia Water and Lightwater clinics, and she works closely with the Lightwater GPs to provide integrated, patient-centred care.
Her key areas of special interest include sports injuries, sacroiliac dysfunction and low back pain related to disc prolapse or muscle spasm, knee pain, particularly post-injury rehabilitation, as well as treating neck pain and headaches, including whiplash-associated disorders and posture-related conditions.
Jane adopts a predominantly hands-on approach to treatment, focusing on relieving acute symptoms while addressing the underlying cause of pain. She combines manual therapy with preventative strategies, personalised advice and targeted exercises to reduce the risk of recurrence and support long-term recovery.
Her wide range of treatment techniques includes joint mobilisations (including the PIM method), the Graston Technique, myofascial release, biomechanical correction, muscle energy techniques, acupuncture, dry needling and cupping therapy. She also offers shockwave therapy, Winback TECAR therapy, long wave ultrasound therapy, PEMF and EMTT.
Jane has been a qualified women’s health physiotherapist for 23 years.
She specialises in the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, including weakness, urinary incontinence, prolapse and bladder conditions. Using advanced technology such as the Myoplus EMG biofeedback system, she provides accurate measurements of pelvic floor strength and delivers targeted muscle retraining programmes. She also incorporates the PelviPower chair to further support and enhance pelvic floor strengthening.
She treats a wide range of pregnancy-related injuries and discomforts, including pelvic girdle pain, sciatica and rib pain, and offers practical guidance on optimal positions for labour.
In addition, she offers postnatal MOT’s to support women in postpartum recovery including diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunction and post-caesarean rehabilitation. She provides tailored advice on posture for feeding and carrying your baby to aid recovery and prevent strain.
Jane works closely with Nick Elkington - our local gynaecological consultant.
Jane also specialises in ergonomics and provides comprehensive workstation assessments for both office and home environments. She evaluates posture, desk setup and working habits, making practical adjustments to reduce strain and prevent musculoskeletal problems.
She offers tailored advice on specialist ergonomic equipment and prescribes specific exercises to address imbalances and support long-term comfort. A detailed written report can be provided following the assessment, outlining findings and personalised recommendations. (Speak to receptionists for more information and prices.)
